DESCRIPTION:Please vote SUPPORT and add a comment.\nYou can support the resolution online at this link:\nhttps://ousd.granicusideas.com/…/6085f350442538368c0005…\nAgenda W-121-0948: vote SUPPORT \nImportant Community Update:\nA number of community activists along with AAYSP have been working for months on a resolution with OUSD to improve certain aspects to strengthen the understanding between the District and the Yemeni community. The resolution will be voted on this Wednesday and we expect it to be approved!\nA resolution supporting Yemeni Students and Families. The resolution calls for the following:\n-Recruit and retain teachers that represent Yemeni/ Arabic students\, through activities such as OUSD job fairs;\n-Hire Arabic-speaking staff in the Enrollment Office to support Arabic-speaking families with enrollment\, standardized\ntranslations for school communications\, and family outreach and recruitment events;\n-Hire more Arabic-speaking tutors and counselors;\n-Add two annual one-hour staff trainings/workshops regarding Yemen and Arabic culture; and\n-Recognize and include two Muslim holidays on the OUSD calendar beginning 2021-2022\nإعلان هام للجالية:\nكما اعلنا سابقاً، قبل اشهر تم التواصل مع مدارس اوكلند و العمل على مبادرة لتحسين مدى التواصل و التفاعل بين مدراس اوكلند و الجالية اليمنية. بعد عدة إجتماعات، توصلناالى إصدار مسودة لقوانين معينه، من ضمنها الاعتراف بعيد الفطر و الاضحى و تعيين اشخاص يمثلون الجالية اليمنية. هذه المسودة سوف يتم التصويت عليها يوم الاربعاء و الموافقه ان شاء الله مسالة وقت.\nالمقترحات هي الاتي:\n1-تعيين مدرسين يمثلون الطلاب اليمنيين / العرب .\n2-تعيين موظفين يتحدثون العربية واللهجه اليمنية في مقر التسجيل Enrollment center لدعم العائلات الناطقة باللغة العربية وقت التسجيل لمساعده الأسر اليمنيه والعربيه\n3-إضافة دورتين تدريبيتين / ورشتي عمل سنويتين للمدة ساعة واحدة للموظفين والمدرسيين لتعريفهم بالعادات والتقاليد اليمنيه والثقافة العربية .\n4- الاعتراف وإدراج عطلتين عيدي الفطر والأضحى المبارك الإسلاميتين في تقويم مدارس أوكلاند OUSD بحيث يسهل للطلاب المسلمين من عدم الحضور كونه عيد ديني.\nThanks to Dhaifallah Mo for leading this incredible work.
