Miriam Mohamed is a first-generation Yemeni- American born in Brooklyn, New York and raised in Chicago, Illinois. Miriam is a mother of seven beautiful children, two of her daughters are in college. Miriam is a resident of Illinois and is pursuing a degree in psychology. She is fascinated in the Biopsychosociocultural approach and how these factors play a role in our community. She lived in Yemen for five years where she attended school and learned Arabic in addition to a great deal about Yemeni culture, traditions, ancient history, and politics. Miriam hosts Soundvision’s Adam’s World Club every Monday sharing her love of Islamic and worldly knowledge while engaging children creatively. She has devoted a majority of her life to volunteering in public schools as well as numerous Islamic schools and organizations in the Chicagoland area. Miriam is committed to empowering Yemeni girls and women of all ages to pursue knowledge and attain a degree in the field of their choice. For knowledge is light and we can not be enlightened without it.
