I was born in Yemen and raised between Yemen and Brooklyn New York. I am passionate about education, writing, education advocacy, and research. I earned my BA in English, history, and cultural studies from The City College of New York and graduated top of my class. I was invited to speak at The White House Woman Summit and various conferences across the nation both as a speaker and a researcher. I earned my M.A in Near Eastern Studies from NYU. Currently, I am a Ph.D. candidate in Education at the CUNY Graduate Center in New York. I am also an Educator for NYCDOE and a researcher at the CUNY IIE (Initiative on Immigration and Education. My hobbies include creative writing, reading, and photography, and sightseeing.
