What We Do

We mentor youth, network with professionals, organize college tours, create and run innovative projects for youth empowerment, host educational seminars, collaborate with schools, partner with national AAYSP chapters, and much more!

Requirements

  • Commitment to AAYSP’s mission and vision.
  • Attend weekly or bi-weekly meetings throughout the academic year.
  • Be a college student or professional.
  • Dedicate 3–5 hours weekly depending on your assigned project.

Open Board Member Roles

  • Social Media Coordinator: Manage AAYSP’s social media presence, create engaging content, track engagement analytics, and ensure our mission reaches a wider audience.
  • Online Seminar Coordinator: Plan and organize virtual educational seminars, coordinate speakers, and manage the technical aspects of hosting events online.
  • Marketing Coordinator: Develop and implement strategies to promote AAYSP programs, events, and initiatives through various channels.
  • Online Mentoring Coordinator: Oversee the virtual mentoring program by matching mentors with mentees, tracking progress, and ensuring positive outcomes.
  • Ask AAYSP Coordinator: Collect frequently asked questions from high school students, coordinate accurate answers, and work with members to share these through videos or online content.
  • Campus Tours Coordinator: Coordinate with colleges/universities to plan tours, schedule activities, and collaborate with volunteers.
  • College Readiness Workshop Coordinator: Develop workshop topics, schedule with schools, and organize volunteer participation (approx. 2 workshops every 3 months).
